Fajã do Cavalete was primarily dedicated to vine cultivation. Its name originates from the traditional method of placing wine barrels on trestles aboard the boats that once set sail from this spot in ancient times.

Regardless of how you arrive on São Jorge Island – by boat or plane – make your way toward Fajã dos Vimes via the EN2 road as your reference point. Upon reaching Fajã dos Vimes, turn left onto a dirt road leading to Fajã dos Bodes for 2 kms. Along the way, follow the wooden signs for Abrigo da Cascata, guiding you to the square of Fajã dos Bodes, near the community oven. Park your vehicle and contact our staff – we will transport your luggage for the remaining 450 meters along the footpath (SJ PR03) to the accommodation. Walk the trail, immerse yourself in the sounds of nature, take in the breathtaking landscape, and get ready for an unforgettable experience of pure connection with nature. #INSIDEYOURNATURE
